CHS 2018 A Capella Invitational– Hits All the High Notes!

by Chris Backer

It is no question that the Centereach Music Department represents some of the best talent the school has to offer. This is proven time and time again with events such as the annual Acapella Night. Schools from all over along Island as far as Wading River travel to perform fantastically arranged songs from their school’s talented students. Centereach’s own Perfect Fourths and Testosterones shook the audience with incredibly choreographed performances that gave everybody chills. Congrats to Mr. Hough and the rest of the chorus for another amazing Acapella Invitational Night!

On March 3, the A Capella Invitational, held at Centereach High School, blew us away with yet again with its magnificent voices.  I want to begin by saying that I am mesmerized by the talent that the students in our music department have. It leads me to wonder, if they are such musical prodigy’s now, than what kind of surprises will they bring in the future? Like every year, this year’s A Capella invitational consisted of numerous schools such as Central Islip who brought out their own students to exhibit their talent. We even had the Potsdam Pointercounts give us a taste of their extravagant musical skills. The excitement and passion of all the students present was quite evident as they danced and sang the night away. Of course our own students including the Testostetones and the Perfect Fourths have not disappointed us. As they sang and beat boxed we were left with our mouth’s wide open.   Overall, the night was one for the books!
