After an exhilarating season ending in 7 wins and 5 losses, the varsity girls’ volleyball team made playoffs for the seventh time in the last eight years. On October 30, the team played in their own gym against Sachem North. At 5:00pm, the gym filled up, packed with fans eager for an exciting game. After five action packed sets, Centereach won with a 26-24 win in the final set. The crowd went wild and the girls celebrated, realizing they were on their way to the second round of playoffs against former New York champions, Connetquot.

On November 1, the girls set off to Connetquot, unsure of how the game would turn out. Connetquot won the New York championship in 2015 and lost in finals in 2016, destined to make it back this year. Although Centereach lost in 3 sets, they put up a good fight and never lost hope, not fearing the other team despite their successful past.

The girls are looking forward to another victorious season next year on varsity.
