After 37 years of hard work and dedication to our school, Mr. Herrschaft is finally turning in his jersey. The above interview is a very heartfelt journey of his whole life. Herrschaft goes into great detail about how he has transformed from a student at Newfield to becoming a teacher at Centereach. He was a diligent student, and played multiple sports, most of which he would end up coaching during his teaching career. These included baseball (his favorite), soccer, and gymnastics. Being a gym teacher for as long as he was you can tell how passionate he is about teaching and interacting with his students. Every class he teaches, he starts with a smile, inspiring everyone to try their best. His attitude toward teaching results in creating hard working and passionate students which is every teacher’s goal. He will be missed by the entire teacher and student body, and will leave big shoes to fill. From everyone at Centereach, you will be missed greatly, and best of luck for what life brings ahead.
