33rd Annual Fashion Show Sizzles the Look for 2017
By: Alexandria Ortiz
Last night was the thirty-third annual Centereach High School Fashion Show. Models from all grades, and even some teachers too, joined together to create a fun, entertaining night. Many families from our community came to cheer on their model. This fashion show, run by the PTA, raised a significant amount of money that will go towards scholarships for our seniors. Twenty dollars may seem like a lot of money, but you are guaranteed a fun night out with friends and know that your money is going towards a good cause. If you were unable to attend be sure to come next year, you do not want to miss it!
This Year’s Prom Trends
By: Alexandria Ortiz
These were the latest trends featured in this yea’s fashion show. If you haven’t chosen a prom dress yet, hopefully this will guide you to the perfect one.
Embellished
This trend replaces statement jewelry, making it a fashionable as well as a practical dress. Anyways, who doesn’t love a little sparkle?
Lace
This old-time feeling dress embraces the vintage trend. Even though lace has been around for decades it has a fresh and new look.
Pastel
Prom happens in springtime; so you’ll want to be wearing light, clean colors. Any pastel color will also bring out a tan. Metallic detailing dresses or a metallic shoe pairing will make the look extra trendy.
Cut Outs
Or rather mock cut outs are super chic. Many dresses at this year’s fashion show featured this style.
Two-Pieces
Along the same lines, last year’s two-piece craze is ongoing. If you feel uncomfortable in a two-piece try a mock two-piece, bound with nude mesh.
