Huge Third Quarter Leads Newfield to Suffolk Division II Title

The Wolverines were able to run out much of the fourth quarter clock, padding their lead with a 10-minute drive before Riley capped it off with his final touchdown of the night. Riley’s final, and literal, flip into the end zone was a fitting finish for a Newfield team that was nothing short of a highlight reel throughout the game.
“We wanted this game so much,” said Ottenwalder. “Coach talked all week about finishing and that’s what we did. We finished the game.”
Now, Newfield turns its attention to next Friday’s Long Island Class II Championship matchup against MacArthur. It’s a game the Wolverines have been working towards all season and while the Suffolk title was important, it was simply another step to the LICs.
In other words, the Wolverines aren’t done yet.
“Everyone knows there’s always the next play,” said Riley. “We’re just going to take it one play at a time and keep chipping at the rock to get it done. (Another) victory would feel even better than this.” – See more at: http://www.msgvarsity.com/long-island/huge-third-quarter-leads-newfield-to-suffolk-division-ii-title-1.1752851#sthash.BoNCOKPR.dpuf
